Composer / Creative Director
Haydn Walker is a distinguished composer and Creative Director, renowned for his 18-year career in the music industry. He has earned multiple APRA Screen Composer Awards, including Best Television Theme and Best Music for an Advertisement, along with several entries in the Sydney Film Festival. His achievements also include a prestigious Clio Award (New York) for his Coca-Cola composition and a nomination for the feature film score of the IF award-winning Men’s Group, which won Best Film.
Throughout his career, Haydn has collaborated, written and/or performed with prominent artists such as Grinspoon, The Black Eyed Peas, The Potbelleez, Darren Hayes, Inga Liljestrom, Archie Roach, Andy Bull, and Katie Noonan. His versatility is showcased in his work on numerous TV commercials for elite brands like Coca-Cola, Singapore Airlines, and Qantas, many of which have received both local and international acclaim. He also composed the ABC Radio News Theme, which was used daily for over a decade.
In recent years, Haydn's work includes scoring the cult horror feature film Observance for Josh Sims, Squinters for Adam Zwar at Jungle Entertainment, Soul Mates for the Van Vuuren Brothers, and the multi award winning The iMom and Girl of the Sky for Ariel Martin. His film score for the documentary Girls Can’t Surf was featured at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival (New York) and premiered at the Sydney Film Festival. Additionally, he scored the 2021 hit sex comedy Spreadsheet starring Katherine Parkinson for Paramount Plus.
More recently, Haydn composed original score for the successful feature documentary for Stan Originals REVEALED: How to Poison a Planet and two celebrated films premiering at the 2024 Sydney Film Festival: The Blind Sea (directed by Daniel Fenech) about blind big wave surfer Matt Formston, and A Horse Named Winx (directed by Janine Hosking) about one of the most successful racehorses of all time. His latest work includes the score for the highly acclaimed ABC/BBC TV series Austin, starring Michael Theo, Sally Phillips and Ben Miller, directed by celebrated comedy director, Darren Ashton.
In addition to his commercial and film work, Haydn writes and performs with his musical project "The Dark Horse."
